Care when traveling outside of the United States
Traveling outside of the United States often leads to many questions about medical insurance coverage. Careful preplanning can make your travel a little less stressful. These are a few things you will need to know concerning ALL services you receive:
- You will have to pay for any services received outside of the United States up-front and out-of-pocket.
- After service is received, you will need to complete the necessary claim forms to be reimbursed according to your plan guidelines.
- Please remember to obtain all itemized receipts for any services received while outside of the United States. You will be required to send these receipts in with your claim forms.
- All paid amounts will be translated into US dollars when the claims are processed for reimbursement.
If you experience a medical emergency go to the nearest hospital.
You do not need to find an in-network provider. Medical emergencies include suspected heart attack or stroke, accident with injuries, asthma attack or other life threatening event.
